Fume extraction in GPPH's offer – how to navigate the growing range of solutions?

Are you interested in purchasing GPPH products?

Fume extraction in welding and metalworking is now a standard, without which it is difficult to speak of safe and stable production. Welding fumes and process dust affect not only the health of operators, but also the quality of work and the durability of machines. It is therefore no surprise that more and more companies are investing in this type of solution.

As demand grows, so does the offer. In the GPPH catalog, the range of fume extraction solutions is constantly expanding and today includes both compact units for small workshops and advanced systems for large production halls. This is where a natural question arises – which system is designed for what, and what actually sets them apart?

At the core of the entire fume extraction system in the GPPH offer is IQ AERO CLEAN. This solution is responsible for proper air purification, meaning the capture and filtration of fumes and dust generated during technological processes. It is here that the key process of separating contaminants from the air takes place, allowing it to be either recirculated or discharged outside.

Within this series, there are different variants that do not change the filtration technology itself, but only the way the unit is adapted to the workstation. IQ AERO CLEAN MOBILE / WALL is the same fume extraction system available in two forms – mobile and wall-mounted. The MOBILE version allows the unit to be freely moved between workstations, while the WALL version enables wall installation and saves valuable workspace.

These are units designed for workstation use, most commonly used with an extraction arm, which allows for effective capture of contaminants directly at the source. In this configuration, they offer a capacity of approximately 3000 m³/h, are equipped with a 2.2 kW motor, and feature a filtration system based on a spark arrester and a cartridge filter with a surface area of approximately 20 m².

The next step includes the IQ AERO CLEAN ECO, IQ AERO CLEAN MASTER, and IQ AERO CLEAN SUMMIT variants, which differ primarily in terms of scale and intended application.

IQ AERO CLEAN ECO is a solution designed with small spaces in mind. Its biggest advantage is its compact design – the unit has been created to fit where standard systems simply cannot. Thanks to its small footprint, it performs exceptionally well in small workshops, at individual workstations, or wherever space is limited but effective filtration is still required.

Despite its compact form, it is a fully functional unit. The mobile design on wheels allows easy movement between workstations, while the 1.5 kW motor provides sufficient performance for this type of application. The unit is also equipped with a spark arrester to enhance safety during welding, as well as a vibration-based filter cleaning system that reduces downtime and simplifies operation.

IQ AERO CLEAN MASTER has been designed for more demanding production environments. It is a larger unit with significantly higher performance, engineered for continuous operation and the simultaneous servicing of multiple workstations. Compared to the ECO version, it offers much greater extraction power and operational stability under heavy loads, making it an excellent fit for facilities where processes run for many hours a day.

This is a high-performance central fume extraction unit equipped with an 11 kW motor, providing a substantial power reserve for industrial applications. A capacity of approximately 15,000 m³/h (inlet Ø400 mm) enables efficient handling of larger installations. The filtration system, based on a spark arrester and a cartridge filter with a surface area of approximately 120 m², ensures both high efficiency and safe operation in demanding conditions.

At the highest level is IQ AERO CLEAN SUMMIT, which stands out with a completely different structural design. It is a fume extraction column with a specially designed grille that ensures even air intake from the surrounding area. As a result, it does not operate point-by-point like traditional extraction systems, but instead creates a filtration zone, effectively purifying the air throughout the entire space.

This solution is designed to operate without duct installations or workstation extraction systems, making it ideal for large production halls. The unit has a height of approximately 4 m and is equipped with a 4 kW motor, ensuring stable operation. A capacity of around 5000 m³/h and a filtration system based on a spark arrester and a cartridge filter with a surface area of approximately 55 m² ensure effective and safe air purification.

A complementary solution to the fume extraction systems is IQ AIR FLOW, which serves a completely different function than the IQ AERO CLEAN series. It is a welding hood designed to ensure even air extraction across a larger working area.

In practice, this means that IQ AIR FLOW enables effective capture of fumes and dust rising above the workstation, even if they are not extracted point by point. Thanks to its carefully engineered design, the airflow remains uniform, eliminating local turbulence and improving the efficiency of the entire extraction process. This solution performs particularly well with larger structures, where traditional extraction arms are either insufficient or restrict the operator’s work.

Looking at the whole system, one thing is worth highlighting – GPPH fume extraction solutions have been designed to be combined and built into one cohesive system. These are not closed, standalone units, but components of a larger setup that can be tailored to a specific facility and its needs.

It is also worth noting that some of GPPH’s solutions are based on patented technologies, which confirms their innovative nature and a well-thought-out approach to designing fume extraction systems. These are not random designs, but solutions developed with real production challenges in mind and aimed at solving them effectively.

There is no single “universal” system for everyone. Every facility is different – in terms of processes, space, and workload intensity – which is why fume extraction should always be tailored individually. If there is any doubt about which solution is the right one, it’s worth getting in touch with us and selecting the system together. Based on real working conditions, we can recommend a solution tailored not only to the process, but also to the space and budget. This way, you can be confident that your filtration system will perform exactly as it should – without overspending and without compromise.
