Why do some tables still look great after 5 years, while others need renovation after just one year?

If you ask welders what the durability of a welding table depends on, most of them will answer: the quality of workmanship. And of course, they will be right. A solid structure, appropriate tabletop thickness, and manufacturing precision are extremely important.

However, there is one more factor that is discussed much less often. It is the way the table is used every day. Welding spatter, dust, moisture, or residues of contamination appear in every workshop. In themselves, they are nothing unusual. The problem begins when the tabletop remains without proper protection and regular cleaning for a long time. As a result, spatter adheres more and more strongly to the surface, removing dirt takes more time, and the table gradually becomes less comfortable to use.

The good news is that this can be prevented very easily. All it takes is to introduce three simple habits.

1. Protect the table before the first spatter appears

Most people think about cleaning only after finishing work. Meanwhile, the best time to take care of the table is before making the first weld.

This is exactly what PROTECTOR– our anti-spatter concentrate is designed for. When applied to the tabletop, it creates a durable protective layer that reduces the adhesion of welding spatter to the table surface. Thanks to this, dirt is much easier to remove after work, and the tabletop itself remains in good condition for longer. Importantly, the product does not contain oil compounds, so it does not affect subsequent processes such as painting or galvanizing the components being made.

2. Don’t put off cleaning until „someday“

Every workshop knows this scenario. After the work is finished, the table looks „still quite good“, so cleaning it is put off until later. However, after some time, it turns out that the dirt has become so stubborn that removing it requires specialist help.

Therefore, it is worth cleaning the table regularly instead of waiting for a thorough cleaning.

For this purpose, we developed HD CLEANER – a highly concentrated cleaning agent for welding tables. The product effectively removes even tougher dirt, and thanks to the corrosion inhibitor it contains, it leaves an active protective layer that helps protect the tabletop against moisture and everyday use. A few minutes after finishing work can really make a big difference.

3. Use the appropriate tools

Even the best product will not work as it should if its application is inconvenient or uneven.

Therefore, PROTECTOR and HD CLEANER are best applied using the GPPH CHEM Sprayer. The adjustable nozzle allows you to choose the spraying method – from a fine mist to a continuous stream, while the 360° system allows operation in virtually any position of the container. In turn, the double action pump sprays the product both when pressing and releasing the lever, making application faster and more even.

It is a small addition that simply makes everyday table care more convenient.

A table is not cared for once a year, but a little every day

It is precisely small, everyday habits that make one table still a comfortable place to work after several years, while another requires more and more time and effort.

Table care is not something you think about every day. But when, after years, the tabletop still performs its role well, it is easy to conclude that those few minutes spent after each job really made sense. Because a good welding table is an investment for years. And investments like that are simply worth taking care of.
