However, when components need to be corrected more and more often, the structure does not align perfectly, or successive parts differ from one another by a few millimetres, it becomes clear that not only the welder’s experience or the quality of the material matters, but also the workstation itself.

What exactly is table flatness?

Flatness determines how much the actual surface of the tabletop deviates from an ideal plane. The smaller the deviation value, the flatter the working surface.

For the user, this primarily means easier positioning of the material. Profiles, sheet metal, or finished structural elements rest on a flat surface, making their positioning faster and more predictable. There is no need to look for unevenness, place additional supports underneath, or correct the positioning before the work even begins.

To właśnie dlatego płaskość wpływa nie tylko na samą precyzję, ale również na komfort codziennego użytkowania stołu.

As flat as our tables – a continuation from GPPH

When does flatness matter most?

Not every project requires the same level of accuracy. If a workshop produces individual structures, gates, fences, or carries out repairs, small differences in flatness tolerance will generally not have a major impact on the final result.

The situation changes in the case of serial production or when making more demanding structures. When dozens of identical components are produced every day, repeatability matters. Every frame, every profile, or part should be positioned in exactly the same place. The more precise the workstation, the less time needs to be spent on corrections and repositioning components.

The same applies to the production of machine structures, fixtures, or equipment, where individual parts must fit together perfectly also at subsequent stages of assembly.

How does this look with our tables?

Our range includes tables with two flatness tolerances. This is not due to a difference in manufacturing quality, but because the individual series were created with different users and different applications in mind.

The EXPERT, PRO and PLUS series are characterized by a flatness tolerance of the entire table surface of ≤ 0.15 mm. These solutions are intended for the most demanding applications, where high precision and repeatability of the structures being produced are essential.

In turn, the SMART and ECO series offer a flatness tolerance of ≤ 0,30 mm across the entire tabletop surface. This is a parameter that, in practice, works perfectly in many workshops carrying out steel structure fabrication, metalworking, repairs, or one-off projects. This allows users to benefit from a professional welding table system while choosing a solution that is better suited to the nature of their work and planned budget.

PLUS series table (≤ 0,15 mm )

Do 0.15 mm and 0.30 mm really make a difference?

On paper, the difference seems small. In practice, everything depends on the type of work being carried out.If several different structures are made in the workshop each month, a tolerance of ≤ 0,30 mm will be fully sufficient and will ensure comfortable work. However, if dozens of identical components are produced every day, every minute needed to position the material matters. In such conditions, even small differences in table accuracy begin to play a greater role because they affect the repeatability of the entire process. That is why our range includes two levels of flatness tolerance – not so that one is better than the other, but so that the user can choose a table suited to the nature of their work.

Flatness is an investment in work comfort

Table flatness is not visible at first glance. It is a parameter that is easiest to appreciate only during everyday work. The better the workstation is prepared, the faster the components can be positioned, the easier it is to maintain repeatability, and the fewer later corrections are needed.

Therefore, when choosing a welding table, it is worth looking at flatness not only through the figure stated in the catalogue. The most important thing is that the table parameters match the actual needs of the workshop. A well-chosen table is one that makes everyday work easier – regardless of whether a single structure or hundreds of identical components are being produced.

Płaskość stołu to jeden z tych parametrów, których nie widać podczas zakupu, ale bardzo szybko można je odczuć w codziennej pracy.
